NeilF Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Just had my new 2002 Disco 2 a week - Iv'e searched past posts, but couldn't find an answer. I didn't notice at first, but when I turn off the ignition, there is a noise of something spinning down - what is it? Secondly, once or twice there was something electrical which was pulsing - enough to slightly dim the interior light - again after I had switched off. Anything to worry about? Quote
BogMonster Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 It's the oil rotor in the engine spinning down, nothing to worry about. Not sure about the electrical pulsing though Quote
ltwt1981 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Possibly air suspension levelling off if you are on a slope or rough ground. I hear mine though. Quote
NeilF Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Possibly air suspension levelling off if you are on a slope or rough ground.I hear mine though. Definitely electrical ('cos the interior light dims slightly with each pulse) -pulses about 1 per second, duration a bit less than that. Hasn't happened again though, only a couple of times........ NeilF Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 This pulsing noise which comes on once in a while - I've located it to a box-like structure underneath the car in the approximate position of the passenger seat??? Quote
Darren Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 It's the compressor for the air suspension just levelling things out as you come to rest and is perfectly normal. Quote
NeilF Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Thank you very much! I had had visions of leaving the car parked overnight with a continual electrical drain going on...... Quote
