West4x4 Posted December 2, 2007 Share Posted December 2, 2007 At sodbury picked up a large dizzy for a 3.5 V8 from Nige spent couple o hours working on truck today changing the inlet manifold and connnecting everything and when it came to dropping the dizzy in it wont drop down the gears on the end wont engage tried twisting the shaft and even rocking the landy back and forwards (yes it was in gear) to get it to drop but it refuses to, Any clues anybody? Bowie69 Posted December 2, 2007 Share Posted December 2, 2007 There are two different gears that fit to the end of a V8 dizzy -I don't know the details etc, but I do know you can push the roll pin out that holds the gear on and swap it over with your old one. FridgeFreezer Posted December 2, 2007 Share Posted December 2, 2007 One has a slot on the dizzy and a "blade" on the oil pump gear, the other has a blade on the dizzy and a slot on the oil pump gear.
