300tdi not getting warm

Recommended Posts

I've just bought a 300tdi 96/N with 130k on it. The engine takes ages to warm up and even then the temperature gauge does not get much above the "C" on the gauge.

It doesn't overheat but the heater won't exactly set your leg on fire either.

My first thought is that the thermostat is stuck and it looks like a fairly easy job. Any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

What is the correct thermostat temperature for a 300tdi?

Thanks in advance.

Les.

Thanks to this excellent post I was able to replace the thermostat in under 30 minutes (including 10 min to find where I'd left the new one <_< )

Happiness, warm feet and demisted windows now prevail. B)

Thanks guys.
