letsgodisco
Hey Up! Just collected a used steering box (mines been leaking for 12mths). I need to check its ok but dont know what to look for, I will have a thrash round this site but just thought Id lob in this thread in case I dont find anything. Anybody have any ideas? Much Appreciated in Advance. Sime. Muchos Gracias Amigo's!
Les Henson
The only way to check it's ok is to fit it unfortunately. The pressure is very high, which makes bench testing almost impossible. Les.

Orange
Might even be worth replacing the replaceable seals before fitting it. That way, you won't be taking it off for something fixable...
letsgodisco
Thanks for the Rad tip, I'll bear that one in mind........... I was going to do the top & bottom seal but I read a thread on here saying that there is a high fail rate on re-sealing (vague recollection).......perhaps you or anyone knows different? Id be happy to know before I proceed to the proceedings. Regards Sime.
