Color code 601

I have a colour code of 601 on my Disco, this relates to both:

ROVER NIGHTFIRE II/RIOJA RED 601/CAQ 1995 1999 METALLIC

and

ROVER RIOJA RED PEARL CAQ/601 1996 - METALLIC

So how the hell do I know which one it is?

They are exactly the same colour, just different name, Nightfire is the Rover name, Rioja is the Land Rover name.

The only things that count:

- Land Rover/Rover paint code (Land Rover Code): LRC 601

- The color code: CAQ

All the rest is commercial details.

Land Rover uses both code 601 and code CAQ and call it Rioja Red Metallic.

Rover use CAQ and call it Nightfire 2. Code 601 is not recognised if you search under 'Rover'

They are all the same colour though.

Don't worry too much about the years given, these are usually the years the colour was in use on a particular vehicle & can be of help to identify the colour of a vehicle with no paint code and no other way of identifying the colour.
