foxminer
Hello all, I have a broken turbo (again) so instead of buying another i thought i might have a go at fixing it myself if possible. Thats where the problem begins, i`ve googled repair kits for Garret turbos and had a good response but does anyone know what model the turbo is on a TD5 . The vanes on the inlet are fine but the ( spinny thingy) inside is loose does anyone know what this is also and can it be replaced. Can i get an exploded diagram of this turbo once i find out what model it is?. Thanks in advance Foxminer.
TJ101
The vanes on the inlet are fine but the ( spinny thingy) inside is loose does anyone know what this is also and can it be replaced. The bearings are shot,, wasting your time, thinking about repairing yourself !! Also need to look into why has it gone again !! Most turbo units are very reliable

Orange
I can't help with the model of the turbo, but Les did a write-up a while back about stripping a turbo. Might prove useful if you are planning a dabble. Even though it may not be the same model, it's still a garret turbo he's stripping... Here is the link
