landrover598
Has anyone got a wired defender dash lying about in the garage ? I need to know which wire goes to which terminal on the water temp guage. There is a male and female spade terminal on the gauge, which one is the 12v +ve feed, and which one goes to the sender ? mmgemini
I thought one had a male terminal the other a female. Use a test lamp. Switch on ign. Test lamp to one wire. Try Green. The other end of the test light to earth. If the lamp lights you,ve got one. The one that goes to the sender is Green/ ?? Blue?? Again you can chek with the teat lamp across both wires and the end of the sender wire to earth. A quicker way is to look at the colours of the wire at the temp sender. Bit of a problem in that i'm wiring the vehicle from scratch using an assortment of wires I'll give the test lamp idea a go. Ralph, cheers, there's no earth lead, so i'll try 12v on the right terminal Thanks.
