Wiring question

Recommended Posts

I thought one had a male terminal the other a female.

Use a test lamp. Switch on ign. Test lamp to one wire. Try Green. The other end of the test light to earth.

If the lamp lights you,ve got one.

The one that goes to the sender is Green/ ?? Blue??

Again you can chek with the teat lamp across both wires and the end of the sender wire to earth.

A quicker way is to look at the colours of the wire at the temp sender.

Green/blue trace is the signal from the temp sender

Green is the 12v power

Black is earth

looking at my temp gauge from the connections side the green/blue fits to the left terminal, black/eatrh to the centre stud & green/12v feed to the right terminal

:D & it's cold & blowing well outside.

Bit of a problem in that i'm wiring the vehicle from scratch using an assortment of wires :rolleyes:

I'll give the test lamp idea a go.

Ralph, cheers, there's no earth lead, so i'll try 12v on the right terminal

Thanks.
