gkm24
I'm sure I have read this before but cant find it any more. My cruise control does not work on my 96 disco V8 Auto, mainly because the hoses are disconnected. I have a hose coming out from the brake pedal switch, a hose from the pump and a hose from the airbox. I assume that a hose fixes onto the vacuum unit which is connected to the throttle linkage as well. I have a T piece connected to the airbox hose which is dangling behind the screenwash bottle. Can anyone tell me the correct way to connect them as it seems I have 4 hose connections and a T piece which only enables 3. Thanks
teabag
Have a look at this link Urban Panzer has done a nice drawing showing the pipe layout. http://www.lro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14726
gkm24
Brilliant. Thanks very much. That's sorted that out. Where does the one from the airbox go?
First_Fleet
Have a look for a small nipple at the rear top of the rocker cover. It's nothing to do with CC, but recycles the rocker fumes back for re-burning.
teabag
Just had look myself and just as first fleet says rear of the right hand rocker cover.
First_Fleet
But to be precise, the LH cover. Washer bottle side.
teabag
But to be precise, the LH cover. Washer bottle side. Ok but i'm in the northen hemisphere and looking at the engine from outside the box...... it's at the rear of the rocker cover with the red/orange thingy at the front. First_Fleet
You're lucky. When I lift the bonnet all I can see is the sump.
JimAttrill
I hope you have the patented southern hemisphere distributor else you will have five reverse gears
First_Fleet
But changing a wheel is a doddle.
gkm24
Right...the pipe fron the rocker cover is connected to the inlet manifold at the moment. Now I have to find out where the one from the manifold goes???
First_Fleet
Where is it fitting to the manifold? Not the nipple on top of the throttle body perchance? If so, that one is for connecting the hose for the dizzy vacuum advance to. If not, I can't imagine where else.
