tjolliffe
Hi all, Got something to pick your brains about. Mate of mine has just has his landy MOT'd and was reversing out of the garage (slipping the clutch slightly as you do when you want to reverse slowly) when all of sudden he lost clutch pressure, the clutch fully engaged and he went flying out the back of the garage! Fortunatly he didnt hit the DB7 Now he doesnt have any pedal pressure (pedal doesnt quite go down to the floor though) and the clutch stays engaged - no lack of fluid or leak anywhere to be seen. Question is what could have caused this, my immediate thought was the clutch release fork wearing through as I know this is a common problem. Does this sound like it might be the case? Anyone want to back me up or got any other suggestions? Any help would be great Cheers
JimAttrill
I reckon your immediate thought it the right answer. We have noticed that many garages who should know better will change a Tdi clutch and use the old fork. We not only use new forks, but reinforce them as well. I'd be looking at the master or slave seals, master more likely if you've no leak from the bell housing. If you clamp the flexi hose at the slave, does the pedal go hard? tjolliffe
Cheers guys, We'll check the master and slave cylinders and if that doesnt turn anything up then looks like we'll be having the engine out and doing a clutch change
