200Tdi Head Gasket, Cam Belt & Clutch

I've a 200Tdi Disco (manual) to look at this week on behalf of a mate. The head gasket is blowing and it seemed prudent to change the cam belt while we have the cooling system drained down. The ball punched through the clutch release arm while he was bringing it over this morning, so new clutch might as well be fitted - another job to add to the list!

What is the view of the collective - gearbox back to work on the clutch or engine out and do all three jobs on the bench? Engine crane and transmission lift are to hand, so no issues about manhandling large lumps of LR. I've plenty of experience of 300Tdi Defender clutches/gearboxes and find it fairly quick to remove the 300Tdi engine as access is good. No experience with Discoverys except access around the transmission tunnel looks tighter and there may be more trim to remove from around the transmission tunnel.

Views / experiences welcomed.

Yep, take the motor out, it might be worth looking at the rear crankshaft oil seal while you are at it aswell...

another tip would be replace the crappy braided earth straps with short lengths of welding cable.. you've got to take them off anyway...
