jimfoo
Been running mine that way for 9-10 years. Don't forget that the IIA nuts are about twice the length of III nuts. I also do a lot of hard off-roading and have never had a single problen.
CR88
In mine SIIA, I run with Wolf wheels and needed to swap the original studs for longer ones.
Gazzar
I read an article in LRM recently about a 2a that had wolf rims fitted without changing the studs. The wheel came off, the landrover damaged a passing car and was a right off. If it was me I'd change the studs and nuts, I believe Zeus engineering can supply them. No idea if they are any good - their timing gear product didn't receive universal praise. G.
CR88
I'd bought from Land Rover parts. They have a lot of sizes available.
Project Green Oval
Hi thankyou for the advice, have got new studs and now some of the threads have gone is it better to replace the whole thing or is it possible to re thread them. jimfoo
If threads are gone, replace the whole thing. Not worth the safety risk.

CR88
Would series 3 ones fit?David yep, but I'm afraid that you need longer than the original S3
jimfoo
The typical rule for minimum thread engagement is 1x the diameter. You will gain nothing by further engagement as the bolt is then the weakest point.
