Les Henson
I looked at a 110 V8 this morning that has a very bad water leak that fills the valley area under the inlet manifold. It seems that the steel pipe that comes from behind the water pump and goes to the heater(?), has corroded through. Is it possible to replace the pipe without removing the inlet manifold, and should the valley gasket be replaced becuase all the bolts will have been removed? Thanks in advance. Les. Mark90
I simply replaced the pipe from the water pump to the heater with a single piece of rubber heating hose of the appropriate size without taking the manifiold (carbs) off.
Les Henson
It just feeds straight through ok then (from the front?) Sounds like a good idea to me. Thanks Mark. Les.
Mark90
Aye just fed it through under the carb manifold no problem. I wanted as few joints, ie leaks, as possible.
Hybrid_From_Hell
The pipe itself is normally bolted to the base of the inlet, so to do it properly its inlet manifold off. Also price new for the pipe is a pleasant suprise.................. for once ! You'll prob find it impossible to remove the flex rubber pipe without killing it, so expect that to be new too Nige
