1989 110 2.5 petrol - where to go now...

Recommended Posts

I have a 110 SW 2.5 petrol. It is a bit sick at the moment, and requires the following:

Uprated suspension as Armstrong units can't keep up with the African road system and daily off road commute. It needs a complete new wiring loom as it's a right old mess, new alternator, ideally I would like to ditch the heavy, scuffy welded steel hatches in the roof and fit a new roof, etc...

I have a new chassis to start the rebuild with. I'm torn between keeping it stock and refurbishing everything, or going for a 300 TDi engine, truck cab rear and ditching the rear doors, full canvas tilt and external cab / internal rear roll cage. The cage and tilt could be fabricated locally.

Ideas?

Can someone point me to a detail NA petrol to 200 tdi conversion thread? Been having a search and found a lot of td to tdi conversions... Off to the local yard to see what I can find.

Thanks all
