p38 problems

My initial guess is the MAF needs cleaning or replacing.

However, other people have more experience with the V8 38A than I do.

It might help them if you say what year your car is, and what size the engine is, as there are two different Engine Management systems. People will tend to assume an automatic gearbox.

On older cars, the adaptive values of the ECU (GEMS) can drift a bit over the years. I had similar problems after the rebuild, and solved it by resetting the adaptive values. Really made a big differene, in mpg as well, as she was running way too rich on low rpms.
