monty
when i got the 90,, i bought a set of bucket seats of eblag which have been great.....i am just after receiving a couple of harnesses that need attached in 3 places....going to use the existing mounts for the seat belt on the seat box, but i need to know the best way to attach the other central part of the harness....is it ok to simply put a whole on the bulkhead behind the seats and use a spreader plate? if so what thickness of plate... photos of how you good folks have done it would be great. thanks

LandyManLuke
IF you do the job properly, you can't take the top mount down to the bulkhead at all. The angle is too sharp and will result in compression of your spine in a serious impact. It is for this reason the FIA set out guidlines on how to install harnesses. monty
so were must the harness goto? do you have to make an internal rollcage? i was only interested in putting the harnesses in, as a means to protect during non-extreme offroading only...like being able to drive to an event, play, and then drive it home. to and from the event would be using the standard seat belt... but i also don't like cutting corners with safety...so whats the best way of doing it? Orange
The mounting requirements are all covered in Hybrid From Hell's "Oooooo - so you want to make a roll cage" thread that is pinned at the top of the Tools and fabrication forum. The diagrams are contained within the 2 downloads and show the possibilities with regard to mounting angles, etc. Sorry I can't help with actual experience...
