Guest diesel_jim
on HTV at 19:30hrs, half hour news program on 4x4 and 2x1 vehicles using "public bridleways" and whether they should/shouldn't be allowed to. Why the flip can't the news reporters even get the initial facts right?... bridleways? exercisers! even the info button on Sky says "bridleways"

v8bertha
Is it called "In the Forest - with Philippa Forrester" (ooo eeeerrr!! ) ? about Friston Forest in East Sussex? Or am I in completely the wrong TV region?
Guest diesel_jim
No, don't think it was "in the forest", i think it's a regional program for HTV viewers. If you've got sky then up towards the end of the selections (near 800 or 900... where the porn is! ) you can select different regions. you'll need HTV west i think. Guest diesel_jim
I've got it on video if anyone wants/can copy it onto DVD/internet (although i'll do a search tonight, i'm sure it's downloadable somewhere). usual tripe.... rambler anti 4x4 types spouting that we're the devils spawn etc. some good coverage from pro 4x4 and 2x1 folk ( i recognised some of the landrovers on there!) one chap from the TRF had exactly my argument ("that the pedestrians have 100% access to all RoW's, we only have 5%, so why can't they be satisfied with their 95% and leave us in peace") some of the council folk from Wilts CC were there saying that they've had 1200 applications for RoW to be kept open on RUPPS and that it would take the 30 (yes, thirty!) years to process it all! then the rambler types were spouting that WE were being "underhand" by using "professional types" (like barristers, soliciters) and how bad it is. but it's obviously quite OK for the ramblers to be soliciters and judges themselves!!! Some group of old crusties that have a semi-permanent caravan park with a RUPP going past it, off road groups have applied to keep it open and these old blue rinsers are now saying that "bikes race up here going up and down continously"..... which is obviously not even going to change if the RUPP gets downgraded, because as we all know illegal bikers will still use tracks even if they become downgraded) one woman said "i know that people must have their hobbies, but not here".... typical NIMBY of ever there was one!!! they had the rural affairs minister on too, stating that "he was giving us 12 months to get our applications in, but if we "bombard" the RoW offices with applications then he will cut that 12 months down to 2 or 3" so, taking what he says, we're shafted on RUPPs, either in 2/3 or 12 months time. I'll seriously consider getting a trail bike then.... cover the number plates and go and ride every footpath/bridleway and old byway there is going!!!!!
