Change the spelling to Mayflower and your search will be more productive.

There are existing threads and advice within the forum, although I actually found these via Google.

has anyone any repair manuals on the mayflour winch can you still get parts for them if so from where

Hi, the mayflower is still going strong. It was very useful in Morocco, although the engine did overheat a little when using it for extended periods. It is incredibly strong and reliable.

I have replaced the steel rope with thick plasma. This was to reduce weight. As asked earlier in the thread, I found the front parabolics were not up to the extra weight of the Mayflower, so upgraded to 3 leaf para's. I had to replace the roller fairlead with an alloy item for the plasma. I was lucky and found an extra wide alloy fairlead at Billing, its the same internal width as the drum. I cut off the rollers, welded some 1/4 " plates in each side of the fairlead bracket, and bolted the alloy version in. It works very well with plasma.

So far I broke 2 shear pins. It takes a lot to break one though.
