Flywheel Question

Chaps,

Of the 200 TDi lump I am rebuilding the face of the fly wheel is a bit ropey where is was left out in the rain by the previous owner.

The original 2.5TD lump I took out has a nice clean flywheel.

Guessing by how similar the two engines are in terms of block etc can anyone tell me if the flywheels are the same and hence swap them over?

Failing that I may need to get the 200TDi flywheel slightly skimmmed.

I am guessing Ralph may be able to come to the rescue. :D

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Grant :)

Thanks Frida, that really explains it.

I gave the flywheel a clean up wiith a rotary wire brush last night and its no where near as bad as I thought.

In fact its as good as the TD one and don't think I will need a replacement after all.

Thanks for the offer on the flywheel, I would love to see what the postage costs would be to scotland! :D

Cheers

Grant :)
