Dunc
Hi, Don't laugh, this is a serious question. Rather than fabbing my own (out of old carp) replacement sills like i normally do, i'm actually buying the pucka stuff so i can hopefully save time and have a straight fit-in job. Been on the net and checked the major retailers and they've got the bits i need, all very fairly priced, but... are you ready? For the driver's side (UK, RHD car) do i need the one listed as left-hand or right hand? You'd think it's the right-hand one as the car itself is RHD, but the photo looks like the left-hand one. I was too embarrassed to phone Paddocks and ask. Any help gratefully appreciated, even if you do take the p1ss...
cipx2
There's no difference between RHD and LHD vehicles re the sills (inner/outer). LH and RH designates Left Hand and Right Hand of the vehicle. The pictures don't always reflect the real thing. Sometimes the pic is common for L/R and sometimes there's a note about this. Bowie69
Look from the back of the car, the right hand is on the right, and the left hand is on the... err.... left The pictures on the paddocks site are only of one side of the vehicle, regardless of the description -probably just being lazy when adding the thousands of items to the shop... Dunc
Thanks everyone, much obliged. i take it you got the one off eblag then? Sorry Al, i hadn't got round to putting pictures up. But aye, here's my new baby; It's in pretty good nick apart from a few holes. Now all i need to do is get the courage up to weld next to an 80l gas tank... disco_al
had to patch the sills on mine, with the gas tanks in place. was a bit unnerving, but as long as you don't let the heat build up you should be ok. alternatively, a piece of plywood slotted between the tank and the part being welded should suffice. is that zanzibar silver? looks the same colour as mine from here, interior is the same.... btw, locks garage is the cheapest for gas ATM 46.9p/litre (depends where you live though)
Dunc
locks garage is the cheapest for gas ATM 46.9p/litre Wrong side of Ewyas Harold mate! My local garage is about a minute away, so convenient but 57p/litre. I'm told that with the MSF account my mate's doing for me it will be 37p/litre! is that zanzibar silver? Dunno! It's like a grey/blue/silver colour. If i decide i like driving it and then decide to keep it, i'll be painting it matt black. B)
