Fuel pipe for EFi 3.5

ROGUE TROOPER

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Im in the process of Modifying the Fuel system. Currently the V8 in in a 2a, but it uses hoses with Jubilee clips on the high pressure hoes which scares the hell out of me!!

Can someone please tell me the part number for the flexy hose that connects the fuel line with the fuel rail?

Thanks

RT

Based on my 87 RRC 3.5 V8.

Yes the flex pipe screws onto the fuel rail but the other end is crimped to the steel pipe running back to the tank so I suspect they come as one piece.

At the other end of that pipe (in the rear wheel arch) is the fuel filter and guess what.....All the pipes are secured with jubilee clips.

So to answer your query.

Provided the fuel hose is in good condition and the clips fitted correctly there should be no problems.

If you are fitting the hose to a pipe with no swage or serations I would suggest pushing the hose on even further and using two clips.

Hello RT,

The high pressure fuel hose is available by the meter from any Yellow Pages fuel injection specialist, typically 8.6mm ID, and you can use simple "P" type fuel hose clips or jubilees.

You can see a pair of the "P" clips being used in this image on a water pipe, but they are fine for fuel lines too. Burlen Fuel Systems do hose and clips mail order.

Its the swage or bell ends that make it very unlikely to blow off, after all its only about 36 psi going to a maximum of 50 psi if the fuel return line gets blocked.
