mudmuncher
Hi Just got a new rear prop for my series 3 and have a couple of questions . I have a gaiter for the sliding joint in the shed, should i fit it or not ?? (i dont really want to take the prop apart but if they are best fitted i will ) Would youy need to greese the uj/sliders or do they come pre packed ?? stuntman
Hello MM, most seem to perish and fall off eventully and don't seem to do much damage, although you 'should' probably fit it, the UJ should come with a small amount of grease however if like the defender ones, you will need to top this up. Jon White
Throw the rubber boot away. Horrible hateful things. They only fill up with mud and mud and grease mixed together form an excellent grinding paste. Just keep greasing it regularly. Yes you should grease new U/j's when fitting. Cartman
I have always fitted a gaiter over the splines and not ripped one yet. Can't be trying hard enough?
