valve cover breather cap leak

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Ever since i put in a new valve cover gasket, the breather cap has been leaking oil.

How do i fix this leak? Is the breather cap screwed on or just "thumped on" the valve cover?

Would appreciate with any ideas.

Cheers :)

you can buy new o ring to go round the cap to stop that but i never seen one that seals propeily mine never did there just a bit over pressureised i suppose

Thankyou, will change the o ring, but how does one open the cap...i mean is screwed, in that case i'd have unscrew it normaly or "thumped on", in that case i'd have to pull it...yank it off?

Hi Adi,

If i remember correctly my series three was the same, you just work it back and forward whilst pulling it off.
