charging

Recommended Posts

since running one of my batteries down my alternator is charging at 14.5volts all of the time - is this right? I thought it was supposed to be 13.6v ish

my set up is a split charge relay to 2 exxide maxximas with an IBS battery management system.

cheers

yeah, anything upto 14.5 means your alternator is functioning good, however it may be worth bunging the battery on charge to see whether you shorted a cell in the battery by discharging it too much i.e. does it not charge up fully on the battery charger.

batteries are a nuisance <_<
