Muttland
Hi to all My Nickname is Muttland, my real name is Enrique. I`m from Uruguay South America. I´m adapting a defender R380+Lt 230 in my Land Rover Serie III 109, 2 1/4 diesel, 2 doors 1980. Some modification were required: Some changes in the cluth whell hose, some moves in the chassis rails, I know it modofication require same another modofication in the front diferential. OPTIONS 1) AVM kit option (part time) 2) Defender diferential W/ 4.7-1 3) Iranian kit wich change to homocinetic transmition. The first time I will use de vehicle without one of them. I`m lookin to buy the AVM kit in brasil ( expensive for my in Uruguay) And I`m lookink to change the motor too in the next future to a 2.8 TGV from 2.5 Brasilian Maxion + 2.8 TGV kit Question: It`s possible to use the tranfer Lt 230 w/lock position and the free whell AVM in 2 w positions???' Sorry for my poor English Knowledge Muttland-Enrique

Sorry for my poor English Knowledge Muttland-Enrique Another option is the Stage 1 V8 front axle these have the CV joints you need. You can also convert your LT230 to selectable 4 wheel drive, like the series. G.
Jon White
Or just leave it permanent 4wd like mine is! Jon
Muttland
"""You can also convert your LT230 to selectable 4 wheel drive, like the series.""" Gazzar : Yes this is one of my possible intention, convert the 230 to part time, Y found this kit in the AVM cataloge. Kit number 446, they include a interior parts to convert the 230 to part time and two free whells hubs to defender 5 screw (diferent to the 6 srew in Serie III ) This is the instalation instruction: My question is : cuold I use for some time the vehicle w/ lock conected in the 230 tranfer with the Serie free whells in 2wd position????? PD: The V8 front dif is a white elefant in Uruguay (rare to find). I only viewed one 101 w/ salisbury permanet transmition front diferential but it was not for sale in this moment. I only could find a defender front diferential to adapt in my Serie, but the relation 47/10 is hard to find. Muttland
