Gents,

I have an odd situation with my 90 rebuild  .

Information:

New chassis for a 200TDi with LT77 gearbox (original engine/chassis was a 2.5TD).

Original Front Axle and Radius Arms refurbed.

Superpro poly bushes.

So, the issue I currently have is that the front springs look out of sorts and at an odd angle between the axle and the spring seats (please look at the pictures you may see what I mean).

I know that the chassis will drop once the engine goes in but it does look as if the axle (bottom spring locators) is sitting 2cm forward of where it should.

I thought it might settle itself in once the engine goes in but when I went to fit the shockies in today they really dont look right or sit in a nice vertical position.

Has anyone seen this before?

The only thing I can possibly think of is that the superpro bushes are thicker than standard thus "pushing" the radius arm/axle centre line forward.

I didnt think there were many differences between the 2.5 TD and the 200TDi and hence radius arms etc should be the same spec? Can anyone confirm?

As everything is new kit or refurbed original I thought it would all go in nice and neatly but thats land rovers! :D

I look forward to your help and ideas.

Cheers

G

I'm with Western. As you say there is no weight on the suspension yet.....also I notice that you haven't fitted the panhard rod yet; while this won't cause problem shown it will make the axle move all over the show until it is fitted.
