200tdi is easy enough to move forward but its still a chew on......easyier to move the box back but hey are very heavy so take care.

When they say the gearbox is Heavy, that really is with a capital 'H'. You need the right kit and a bit of knowledgable assistance. ie NOT the bloke who said he would do it for me and managed to drop the gearbox twice!

its not the easiest job in the world and yes the gearbox is heavy/ awkward ive done 2 now using the trolley jack method sliding the box back in the tunnell, the most crucial part is getting the new plate alingned and then you wont have to hold the box for too long if you dont rush and take your time it should be ok,chris.

Trolley jack is the best way if you dont have any lifting gear, but as said it is HEAVY, so if you can get two other people under there as well to help with the wait all should be ok, make sure you have a clutch lining tool or you will be trying for days to get the box back in,

Me I have a pit & lifting gear now at home & done the last one with 4 of us under there so was quite easy to lift box out & back in

Good luck with it
