Cartman
Fitting a non-Disco oil cooler to the ex-Disco 200tdi going into the Series 2A and ideally wanted to replace the threaded oil pipework connections at the filter end with new. Anyone know the thread size/spec.? Cheers, Paul
Phil Hancock
IIRC its 1/2"BSP.
Cartman
Not 1/2" as I had one to check against, pitch is slightly different. So something Metric? Anyway I think I have sorted it now. After removing the swaging section it looks like I can re-use the fitting with suitable hose and double hose clips. That should do the job (new Nitrile O-rings of course)
ejparrott
Any decent hydraulics outfit will match and replace fittings for you, and make you nice new proper hoses.
Cartman
I'll find one local to me. Once I have the pipes cut to length I will waddle down there and see if they can swage 'em
ejparrott
It will be by far the best solution....says he who is stilllll running with J clipped hoses...really must get them done...trouble is i need the 88 on the road every day... ciderman
And the ports in the rad are 3/8 BSPT
Cartman
I'm using a 13 row Mocal with 1/2" BSP Also found that despite the 200 series thread being the same the early and late oil cooler fittings are different. The early type uses a Nitrile O-ring as the seal where as the later model has a tapered/bell shaped mating/sealing head.
