zardos
Can anybody tell me what type of belt system would be on the front of a 1996 3.9 V8 Disco Mk1?, I know V8's have had different types on them. Is it a Serpentine system with one belt to cover everything? or a multiple belts (my defender with a transplanted v8 has multiple v belts with a multi grove alternator belt) Note the disco does have aircon Thanks
ThreeSheds
I have a 3.9 from a 96 air-con disco in the garage waiting to go in the RRC - it's got a serpentine belt..

calvin
I have a 94 efi with aircon. The alternator is right at teh top of the engine. It is a single serpentine belt that works everything. Really easy to take off and put on, just move the adjuster with a socket to slacken and the belt just falls off. cheers
vougese39
the serpentine drive system is a better setup means a lot less noise from the belts and a better oil pump in the front cover to convert a old spec engine to a serp set up you eill need the front cover and all the brackets and alternator, pas pump and water pump as well
