Orange Posted January 20, 2010 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Presuming you are refering to the chequer plate when talking about metal primer and paint, I would suggest that if it hasn't taken very well then the primer wasn't etch primer... A decent quality etch primer allowed to dry properly, overcoated with a reasonable quality paint should serve you well. Of course, if you use the bonnet and wing tops to stand on, this is a whole different game and you will need a much more resillient paint to finish it off with...
