Finn
I am not totally sure, but you could try P. A. Blanchard or Landrover Orphanage Cheers, Finn
Rich_P
Ashcroft also do four speed Series gearboxes, but they aren't cheap. You'll be looking at the upper end of three figures. It may work out cheaper to rebuild the gearbox yourself. If the vehicle is in regular use, perhaps source a second hand gearbox while you rebuild the existing one? missingsid
Series gearboxes ARE Q
missingsid
Series gearboxes are reasonably easy to rebuild but if you do not do it properly it will be noisy. I rebuilt (replaced parts) on my S1 V8 gearbox some years ago and it still works fine, but as I just wanted it back on the road I did not check any tolerances so it is noisy now. Marc. Ed Try these guys as they quote £250 exchange for a series gearbox, I have not had one of their units yet as my project has been delayed by a house move but when I spoke to them they seem to have a good and effective system for exchanging the units Let me know if you give these guys a go as it would be good to hear what their gearboxes/service are like. ludylandy
I have learned from experience that buying the cheapest reconditioned box you can find doesn't always work out for the best. Different firms have different interpretations of the word "reconditioned". My advice would be to speak to legs - clicky clicky. They will strip your box and replace the worn/defective parts. Did a good job on my overdrive a few years ago anyway. Adrian
landrover 107
i'd recomend legs, i had a recon engine from them a few years ago, the service was great, they even delivered it free, they dont cut corners, recon to them means exactly that
