pinhead Posted February 3, 2010 Share Posted February 3, 2010 got a new head unit for my 99 d2 v8 last weekend and fitted it straight in now it was on iso leads so it was straight forward but it is still running the harmon cardon amp and even on vol 1 its very loud and hisses how do i bypass the amp can i just cut the power wire or do i need to do a load of wire work under passenger seat or is there a plug from autoleads that just does it for you thanks andy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sweety Posted February 18, 2010 Share Posted February 18, 2010 You could probably cut the wires from the amp to the speakers & run new cables to the speaker wires or the other option would be to run a full new set of speaker cables from the headunit to each speaker. I have fitted my own sound system into my D2 with a 800w amp, 12" sub 6x9" & 6" speakers & it sounds far better than when it left the factory but I left the rear door speakers connected up & the voice coils in the LR speakers are totally shot from the extra power from just the Sony HU Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
