western
What you need is this 2002 wiring diagrams Td5 & last of the 300Tdi's. those colours you have are not factory wiring, the front interior light has these purple/brown trace from fusebox to bulb one side of the slide switch to earth Black wire other side of switch to Purple/white trace to alarm ecu or door switches [purple/blue trace] see diagram section 44 pages 72/73 in link above. Jake Lloyd
I have a 300 Tdi 110 that i'm fitting a Outback roof console too. The console has the red, yellow white wiring fitted to it. The intructions say to put them to the red, yellow ane white. Which is proving to be a pain, being as i have a purple, blue-purple and black ! Back to the car and some more head scratching Cheers
mmgemini
Ralph is right. Those are not Land Rover wiring colours. Maybe riceburner ones. Purple is live through a fuse IIRC. Purple/ Black goes to door switches and black is earth. Here is a full list of Lucas colours http://www.vord.net/cars/wiring/colours.php A test lamp will soon sort out what goes where HTH
western
the diagram below is for the 300Tdi [without Td5 type instruments] thought it might help you identify the wires easier.
