western
if it's the thin metal pulley that the belts run in is bolted to the heavy crankshaft damper [the thick bit] check the 4 bolts are tight.
rovernut
whilst staring into the murky deapths of my 2.5 TD 110 I notice that with the engine running, the crankshaft pully appears to "wobble" any ideas? Some years ago I had the pulley work loose on a 2.5 TD 90. The bolt had worked loose and the pulley destroyed the end of the crank. I built the end of the shaft up with plastic metal, fitted a new key, pulley and bolt. This repair was still holding some five years later when I sold the 90 on. At the time I seem to recall that there was a problem with 2.5 TD crankshaft end bolts working loose.
reb78
At the time I seem to recall that there was a problem with 2.5 TD crankshaft end bolts working loose. My experience with this about 3 years ago was the garage changing the timing belt not torquing the crank bolt up properly! Got it back and could practically undo it with my fingers. Have not paid a garage for anything other than MOTs since. Worth checking the crank bolt is tight, but what Ralph suggests is hopefully the cause.
