td5 indicator problem

Recommended Posts

Unlikely to be the hazard flasher switch if thew hazards are working fine.

The indicator problem .... if the flasher relay and fuses are fine it could probably be the indicator switch on the steering column ? Probably b est to have a 12v tester at hand to trace the culprit.

I've got a similar problem in my 2003 110 td5 Defender

It seems that my indicator flasher unit is giving up the ghost. It works at times and when it does not, it makes a funny noise.

Bought a new flasher unit to put in, but even with new one it immediately had the same issue. Also have a problem that the high beam does not come on when I pull the indicator stalk back. Pushing it forward the high beam comes on.

Replaced the indicator assembly recently with a new one, so tried with my previous unit plugged in and the same problem persists.

Hazards work on all 4 corners.

Checked the earth cables and they were fine.

Could it be some other relay causing the problem? Any thoughts?
