bonjovi
i have a rear axle off a J reg 200 tdi disco complete. there is disco 200 tdi engine and boxes in my 90 as well out of the same vehicle.actally i have the whole vehicle at the moment. should i change the rear axle as well? to gain disc brakes is it worth it? and are the ratios the same as i do not want to wind up the exsisting original front axle of my 90 that used to be td. thanks
Mark
Ratios are the same - 3.54 If it were me I would swap it for the better, easier to maintain brakes alone. It's a pretty simple swap. Mark
Retroanaconda
Best upgrade I've done on my 90, the difference in braking feel is immense They also work after off-roading, and don't need cleaning out every time afterwards. Combine it with an X-Brake and eliminate drum brakes entirely from the vehicle!
errol209
X-Brake Other lesser disk-based handbrake conversions may be available, but we don't like them , and we aren't saving up for them
