Changing brake fluid

Recommended Posts

Another of the maintenance items I am trying to pick off is a note that says every 18,000 miles to renew the brake fluid.

Any views on this?

Presumably you loosen off a bleed nipple at each of the brakes in turn, pump a fair bit and keep it topped up with new fluid. Or is there a more scientific way to do it?

Thanks

Malcy

This is the sort of job clearly explained in a Haynes which will give you pictures as well.

It is an easy enough proceedure to do two handed or even quicker & easier with an Ezibleed which makes it a single-handed operation. I am just about to do my 90 again and thinking back I recall that last time it took about 10-minutes to bleed the system through thoroughly, it took more than twice as long to set up beforehand & pack away afterwards!
