steve g
'96 300tdi. Driving with the window open on bumpy roads (i.e. all roads around here!), there is a metallic rattling noise coming from under the front. Not really speed related - more 'bounce' related! Makes no difference if you accelerate or decelerate. Makes no difference if you are in neutral. BUT - it stops instantly if you touch the brakes. Just passed its MOT so shouldn't be suspension problems, etc. Local Landie man (who is very good) poked about and found the front pad retaining pins rather worn thus allowing some pad rattle so replaced them and the pads. Great - the problem had gone completely - but a week later it's come back. (He also looked for anything loose but couldn't find anything else) Any thoughts?? landroversforever
I have a rattle on the front, its the bottom washer on the shock bush. Worth having a look at?
ashtray
one of my mates has this same problem but on the rear callipers, he has the coil spring type retainers, hes replaced pads, discs, calliper and the retaining pins and springs and its still there, so far only duct tape has silenced the issue
