Panhard rod bracket Question

Recommended Posts

I'm working away on my rebuild, and i've just attached the panhard rod to the front axle, and attached the drop bracket thing to the chassis.

What i'm wondering is, if i bolt the drop bracket up, will i be able to fit the steering box at a later date (i'm going to buy a new one, but dont have it yet), or does the drop bracket need to be loose to enable the steering box to fit?

The drop bracket appears to have two bolts which attach to the bottom of the steering box you see, and i'm not sure if the steering box will go in with this "in the way" so to speak?

Cheers

Thats good to know!

Didnt want to have torqued everything up, only to have to rip it all out again when i get the box.

I fitted the front axle and thaught "yey, thats an item off the list", but in reality its not, because i still need to (buy and) fit the steering bars, shocks, springs, bump stops and the steering box itself! :(

Cheers

On my 200tdi 90, the bracket that the panhard rod mounts to, and the part that ties that to the bottom of the steering box, are seperate, is yours not the same?

The two are joined by a single stud/washer/nut, which has significant clearance in the bracket hole, to allow for any misalignment.
