Piezo buzzer fitting

Recommended Posts

Just bought on a whim and a boredom fancy. A cheap 12v Piezo buzzer to fit on the reversing light. ;) Could this be attached to the wiring okay or will this need some extra resistance? Also is this legal to fit and no smack bum from law and mot. vehicle 1988 v8 3.5 csw :D

if your wanting to use it as a vehicle reversing warning for pedestrians then it must be silent between 2330 to 0700 hours IIRC same hours as you should not use the vehicles horn.

normally connecting it into the side/tail light circuit will signal the buzzer to 'shut up' during hours of darkness.

As long as you've not got LED lamps, you can connect the +ve from the buzzer to the +ve of the reversing light, then the -ve from the buzzer to the +ve of the side lights, this will shut the buzzer up when the side lights are on!
