trendkill
A friend has asked me to take a look at her reverse light on her Disco. It started life as a 300tdi auto - Now converted to Manual. The conversion doesnt look like a bad job, but the reverse lights don't work. Just checked the bulbs etc... All ok! My guess is the switch on the gearbox hasnt been connected? Where would i find the cable from the auto box reverse switch (if its still there) & then connect onto where on new manual box? ALSO- What do people use to stick down a lifting dashboard? Think im correct as to say it may need heating up somewhat & glue? Thanks in advance chaps & chapess's!
Trevorevans
Sorry can't help with the reverse light issue, but if by saying 'dashboard lifting' you mean curling up near the windscreen there are kits available from various company's to resolve this the only one that I recall at the moment though is Bearmach. HTH and good luck with the reverse light.
DEANO3528
REverse light wiring on an Auto should be on the left hand side, possibly in a plug with 4 terminals. 2 for the reverse light and 2 for the starter inhibit.
teabag
The reverse light switch is incorporated within the auto selector housing at the top of the gearbox, therefore i would expect the cables somewhere under the centre console
