Bearing fitment issues!!! Any ideas?

Right im just fitting all the new stub axle/beaqring to the rear of my RRC.

Puuting the new bearing seat in place and as i knock it into the hub it suddenly drops to where it sits, ~But it moves side to side approx 2mm..... :o

Im sure this bearing seat should be a tight secure fit, for the bearing to sit tightly into.....

Checked it was the correct size bearing supplied and it is, and took the other side apart and that is fine with no movement.

Could all this be down to a knackered hub??? and not just a bearinjg, which has caused the damaged stub axle?

got early front ones from a disco but the main body is about 1/4" bigger. and runs 2 inner oil seals.

phoned pete up and about £85 for a new one :( just spent £75 to get it back on the road this morn.... Might see if i can get hold of a good used one im sure Noddy will have one in Wick.
