RedLineMike
Right, i currently have a whitbread buggy with a td5 powering it along, its vnt'ed & mapped etc etc so goes very well, problem ive had is that the smoke escaped from the clutch, it needs a replacment clutch & will prob go for a solid flywheel whilst im there, my query is, is a td5 R380 box the same spline count as an 300 r380/ lt77 (23 splines i think) & also is the input chaft the same size? also what size is the standard clutch? 240mm? reason for asking is i know that cossie clutches can be used on a tdi, so was thinking that a cossie clutch could be used for a td5? Les Henson
TD5, 200TDi, 300TDi, 2.5TD, and 2.5N/A all have the same clutch splines, so input shaft splines are the same as well. I've done a few solid flywheel conversions on the TD5 engine, and feedback is good. Les.
