CwazyWabbit
Oh well, looks like we are all wrong as it is apparently not Obamas limo but one of the older Bush Limos that they just use for ferrying the rest of the gang about in...... the grill is different from the beasts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_state_car_%28United_States%
ian_s
Leaf springs wouldn't have gone so dramatically Viewed from a different angle and a bit closer it looks to me like the front wheels are actually pulled up away from the ground slightly. i wonder if it's an automatic system to lower/stiffen the suspension, to improve handling in sticky situations. Gromit
it looks to me like the front wheels are actually pulled up away from the ground slightly. i wonder if it's an automatic system to lower/stiffen the suspension, to improve handling in sticky situations. It looks more like the centre of the car caught on the receiver for the gates, and stopped the car. The momentum of 20 tonnes, (or whatever it weighs) of beast moving forward, was translated into downward force at the front, which broke the front suspension. ian_s
i suppose if the suspension did fail, there would have been several tonnes on each tyre pushing it upwards
