trendkill
Cheers Western! They look slightly different though? The knackered one has like a box that runs off the main pipe.... IF you follow? What is this for and will it make any difference not having it on a replacement part? Thanks again!
trendkill
BUMP! Can anyone tell me if replacing the old pipe (pictured) with a new one that doesn't have the additional air box will make any difference to the car? Need to get a new pipe ordered a.s.a.p as I'm being nagged now! Many thanks...
peat
I'd try a decent breakers yard first and save some pennies!
Escape
With the GEMS and Bosch V8's, LR used various types of boxes attached to the airpipes, to reduce resonance and intakenoise. I have replaced them on our P38a's with normal airpipes and don't really noticed a difference, so I wouldn't worry about it. I do know the original pipes can be quite expensive, so it seems like a good idea to try a breaker before ordering new.
M&S
Ebay or breakers yard as suggested. Try searching for air filter or air box, often they come complete with hose and maf
