Mo Murphy
Be easiest just to get a later harness, it's what I did. HTH Mo
Frax
I did change the plugs on my loom and it was right pain, you need the correct crimping tool. I only did it as I shortened my loom so it was the main plugs on the bulkhead that I did. Regards Frax
Retroanaconda
Td5 chassis harnesses are fairly commonplace. Although technically what you'd want would be a ROW-spec chassis harness as you have a 300Tdi IIRC, however the only real difference is the provision of a purple/white wire in the Td5 version which feeds the fuel pump. I actually have a spare ROW-spec chassis harness which I bought in error (at considerable cost, brand new genuine parts!), but I think it's for pickups/hi-caps as it doesn't have any of the wiring for the rear door electricals (HRW/wiper/hi-level brake light etc.).
