brighouse shed
Not great on electrics so some help would be great. My rear demist (1991 200tdi) when switched on comes on after a few seconds or like the last few days a couple of minutes or not at all. My initial guess would be to take switch apart and clean contacts up then panic as i need to find a relay somewhere. Anyone point me in the right direction please
western
rear screen heater switch is just a small rocker type unit, the voltage sensitive relay [VSR] is in the far right corner of the dash [yellow] relay] make sure this is fully seated in it's socket, the heated rear screen relay sits next to the VSR. have a look/clean the connections at the rear screen as well. western
In the far right corner of the dash either move the instrument pack out of the way or the 3 switch panel by the drivers door, you should see the yellow VSR unit in the corner
JeffR
The VSR, if its trashed, will cost an arm and a leg to buy new! There is a thread in the Tech section on how to bypass it.
