do all core plugs hold back water?

just about to fit a disco 200Tdi into a 110 but when I removed the water pump there was a lot rust inside, so I thought I would replace the core plugs before installing the engine. now which core plugs to replace? I'm happy to relace them all but feel it would only be the water ones that could cause problems, so looking at the back of the engine, there is one small one at the top of the head (water) but there are two bigger ones lower down ( these are the ones that would be a bugger to change with the engine in place)

Now I think that the only core plugs to cause problems would be the ones that hold back water so does anyone know which core plugs do what.

Many thanks.

ain't all the core plugs for water? i suspect you will have to remove the exhaust manifold etc to get to them.

remove the brass drain plug on the side of the block near the front core plug on that side. With the core plugs out stuff a garden hose through each hole. Stick ur fingers through the other holes and you will feel the cylinders inside the block. At their bottoms where they attach to the block you will probably find a load of crud.
