Drivetrain problems

I'm new to the land rover thing. An inexperienced home mechanic but happy to tinker. I have a fairly pronounced 'judder' when i pull off from standing or on the over-run at low speed - sounds like there's play somewhere but i'm after advice on the order I should be checking things.

The UJ's are new, as are the rear A-frame bushes but that's as far as i've got...

Any ideas?

Cheers guys

i recently had the same symptoms on my 200tdi defender, turned out the clutch slave cylinder was leaking slightly and contaminating the clutch causeing it to slip slightly on setting off,it only juddered from a standing start though and not when changing gears in motion

I cured a severe judder (from standing start only) recently when I replaced the spigot bush in the crank. Turned out the people that fitted my gearbox last not only didn't replace it, but did a good job at mullering the one that was in there too! This affected forward and reverse motion from stationary.
