Andyl
The rear window on my 94 LSE dropped and won't come back up. I took the door panel off and the nylon bush/slider connecting the arm to the runner on the bottom of the glass has worn through and broken. Visiting my local specialist it seems you can't buy just the nylon bit that wears out, but you have to buy the entire regulator and fitting involves removal and realignment of the top of half of the door! I was kind of hoping for a £5 five minute fix! Anybody faced this before and know if/where I can get the nylon bit? cheers, Andy
western
You won't get just the nylon bit as a seperate new part, only way is to change the complete regulator assembly or you maybe able to retrieve a nylon bit from a old regulator, but it'll probably be worn out too. They come up on eBay quite often (but note Western's warning about pre-worn parts - it's a gamble). Think I've got a spare one up in the loft that I bought by mistake (wasn't the part I needed - it was the channel on the bottom of the glass that had corroded). Which window is it? Which window is it? bugger It's the driver's side rear on a '94 softdash LSE. I asked the spares guy for a price and he rummaged through loads of different regulators, but the one he came up with didn't look right. He checked the chassis number and declared that they didn't have that one in stock. Might be a bit of an oddball for an LSE as the door is longer, so buying one unseen would be a bit of a gamble either way. Thanks anyway Not sure about doing that myself, looks like another day in the dealer's may be looming. Cheers, Andy

Cheers, Andy depending on your LSE's chassis number it'll be one of these RH rear side door 108" wb upto VIN KA647644-----------STC944 or from VIN MA647645 to MA659910------ALR6544 hth

Got to go up in the loft tomorrow anyway so I'll take a look. It's not a horrendous job to replace - just expect a few skinned knuckles. Yep, different numbers for a 100" RRC STC2884 from VIN MA659911 or RTC3816 to VIN MA659910, for the LSE's longer door I guess the arm that moves the glass up/down is longer. Oh well, guess there's no point rooting in the loft then.

Interestingly the ALR6544 is a lot cheaper than the part I was originally quoted, so that's something anyway! Thanks for the help guys. Andyl
Oh well, one ALR6544 being fitted on Thursday Why is life never simple? Apparently ALR6544 doesn't look like what came out and doesn't fit into the slider. I checked the number elsewhere too and it definetely should be the right part Alternative being delivered tomorrow. If that's not it then somone must have changed the whole assembly previously, so I'd have to change the window as well, which is tinted so.... Oh boy!
