nino
hello all can you mix and match early and late looms on a td5 15p engine with loom onto a early tybe bulkhead loom with the early type chassis loom? will it still work?
Off Road Toad
I have a 99my cut and shut engine loom on a 05my bulkhead loom, unknown age rear chassis loom, and an early throttle pedal, a late ecu running an early map immo free. So my guess is it's all interchangeable, oh and the wing looms are 300tdi !
Dave W
It seems to work on SWMBO's 90. 15p engine and loom connected to an earlier bulkhead loom. For the bulk of the "important" connections the two looms are separate anyway with the engine loom going to one ECU plug and the bulkhead loom going to the other. The two connectors that join the looms together in front of the bulkhead seem to be the same regardless of year - more than can be said for the chassis loom ! Retroanaconda
The main changes are the locations of various things...for example all the switchgear moving to the middle console. The actual engine managament wiring is largely seperate as Dave says, and the wiring for the dashboard gauges/warning lights and steering column switchgear should be the same. nino
ok cool so i can tell my mate that he can put his dash on then and extend or bring up the hazard and wiper switches to the center part just hope he gets a early chassis loom so it plugs straight in the bulkhead loom
